Hidden In Plain Sight

“Don't hide the madness.” Allen Ginsberg said.
Advice some may follow,
others keep it in their head.
I haven’t had to hide it,
or try to keep it bound.
Why should I bother?
When no one stays around.

Little Outside, Weird Within

When I awoke today
I was a child again.
Sent off to go to school,
like I had way back when.
Now I knew the answers,
the classes were all easy.
My grades were all perfect,
it was now fun for me.
One thing hadn't changed,
it was even worse since this occurred.
I found with that with the kids,
I was socially awkward.

Goose bumps,
goose bumps,
everywhere.
Goose bumps goose,
without a care.
Watching geese bump,
has its charm.
But not the goose bumps,
on my arm.

Fear He's A Jolly Good Fellow

If I could live without fear,
unafraid I’d explore frontiers.
No longer would I hesitate,
to be one who participates.
I’d laugh at danger,
I’d go forth brave.
Boldly then would I behave.
Full of courage from this granted wish,
as I fall into the abyss.

I Would If I Could But I Can’t So I Won’t

I would if I could,
but I can’t,
so I won’t.
Don’t ask me If I want to try,
cause I don’t.
It’s a bad idea,
and it just won’t float.
I would if I could,
but I can’t,
so I won’t.

It’s not that I’m lazy,
or won’t give it a go.
But I haven’t a chance,
I’m sure that it’s so.
Besides all that,
I’ve been down this road.
And if there is one thing I’ve learned
It’s when to say no.

It may seem easy,
for others to do.
But that doesn't mean,
it will work for me too.
So take my advice,
look for someone else who,
will do it correctly,
and won’t tell you,

I would if I could,
but I can’t,
so I won’t.
Don’t ask me If I want to try,
cause I don’t.
It’s a bad idea,
and it just won’t float.
I would if I could,
but I can’t,
so I won’t.

Spoon Fed Hip

There are some things
of which I have no clue.
For instance the latest style,
or the popular song that is new.
Once upon a time
pop culture sprang from my lips,
but now that I am older,
I am far from hip.

Advice From A Wise Man

There was a man
old and wise,
who often gave
good advice.
He said “Have some cake
and eat it too.
But whatever it is
that you do.
Wear some loafers,
or wear some boots,
but don't wear flip flops
with a suit.”

The Journey (an addled adage)

(The Journey)

The journey of a thousand miles,
begins with a trip to the bathroom.

Son Of A King

I'm the son of royalty.
First in the line I am.
Someday I would inherit,
my father's many lands.
Except my father will not die.
No succession will that bring.
So I will forever be,
the son of Burger King.

The Nice Job

A gentle word instead of wrath.
An insult taken but not given back.
A friendly comment instead of truth.
Tolerating those uncouth.
Facing wrong but doing right.
Still sometimes it’s tiring being nice.

Verbiage View

What verb works best for me?
To have? To Think? To be?
The verb that describes my thinking,
is of my desire to be sleeping.

Bright Birthday

My birthdays became quite an affair.
With friends and strangers gathered there.
But not for me did they celebrate.
The came to view and spectate.
For light would brighten the night sky.
And heat went forth far and wide.
Of this spectacle they would partake.
From the flaming candles on my birthday cake.

Ahead Of My Mind

Avant Garde,
a visionary,
ahead of my time,
these are words that could apply,
to creations from my mind.
I have a style that's different,
from how the world thinks.
It could be that I'm a genius,
or maybe my work stinks.

The Day Off

Today is my day off.
A time for chores and play.
So many things to do.
I've looked forward to this day.
Where do I begin?
This thought fills my head.
It doesn't really matter.
I'll not get out of bed.
